On a mission today

Wish me luck!  I am on a mission today not only to clean house becaues the parental units are coming over tonight, but to find me some metal cookbook holders or plate easels.  I have a really good idea for my craft table and I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner.  I watch the videos and see the posts, but for some reason I never thought to purchase these metal easels to display either my artwork or paper packs.  I send out a BIG hug to my Upline who showed me the way.  I also have to thank all the wonderful consultants who made suggestions on my post to CTMH's facebook page last night who suggested I go to....Home Sense, Winners, Home Outfitters, Bed and Bath and Beyond and of course Michaels....so you all wish me luck today and I will post later tonight to tell you about my mission!  stay tuned...

Wanted to share

I wanted to share this post from Close to My Heart I thought was really interesting.  CTMH is asking their users what they would ask Jeanette Lyton and this is also a contest for a lucky winner:

 ask-answer-and-win

My comment was "how do you come up with the idea for the paper packs for each season (i.e. the B&T designs)?"

What would you ask Jeanette?  Think about it and go to Jeanette Lyton's blog at the link I have posted.

Painted and looking good

I am a few days late on this one, but the preparations for the craft sale this past weekend took precedence.  I finally finished painting my Embellishment centre by Making Memories and oh boy it looks great.  Here are some pictures of the finished product.  Hope you all like it and now I can't wait for hubby to get home so he can help me mount it on the wall.

A wonderful weekend

I have to say for my first craft sale, it was a lot of fun and a great learning experience...I generated a few orders and hopefully some new clients.  I talked to all the people who came to my table and even handed out a few catalogues to those really interested. So there are a few adjustments I have to make which won't be so hard for the next one.  The Idea board I spent two days trying to put together (i.e. showcase tool, products and some of my artwork) was TOO BIG..LOL...so I have a better idea on how to showcase my artwork.  The other adjustment is how I display the product.  The bigger products like the paper packs or the die cuts will need a taller bin to display.  I didn't realize how little space you get at one of these sales and I was lucky to get a second table at the last minute (thank you Monique for that).  One of the benefits with participating with this sale is I will be included in the mailing list of other sales in the area.  I am so excited about that!  I was also invited to two other craft sales for late November, and I cannot wait.  I had such a wonderful weekend and I definitely have to thank my supportive family and my mom for helping in the days leading up to the sale...thanks guys!

Late..late night

The effects of going to the dentist and taking antibotics are...you are WIDE AWAKE.  I took my medicine as prescribed and found myself in my craft room until 2:30am, not tired and working on my Idea board.  Finally hubby came in to rescue me from my madness and brought me to bed (or at least he tried).  I did try to close my eyes, but by this time I was over tired and my eyes were not cooperating.  I decided rather than toss and turn and disrupt the hubby, to go downstairs and watch some t.v.  Low and behold one of my favorite movies were on...Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!  Wooohoooo a movie I could enjoy and I am not tired, a concoction for no sleep.  Well I almost stayed up to the end of the movie, but thankfully I fell asleep near the end and just in time for my youngest son to get up for work...yes people....I got a wooping 2 hours sleep and now I am trying to complete my Idea board for tomorrow.  I will post some pictures in a bit for you all to see.

What an adventure

Today was my day to go to the dentist (hense the D Day) and oh my what an adventure!  I went to my appointment thinking I only required one tooth pulled, but the dentist ended up removing a second tooth.  I was a little fussy about the needle (who isn't) because in my eyes the needle looks 8 inches long and really scary...LOL...after a few deep breathes I was ready for the gigantic needle.  The first needle was a breeze, BUT the second one felt like it was being injected into my sinus cavity.  I practically jumped out of the dentistry chair and into my hubby's lap because of the weird sensation I felt (like when you get pop up your nose) from the freezing.  I am not too sure who was more surprise me or the dentist.  Again after a few really deep breathes I was able to get on with the appointment and have me teeth pulled.  I am a little sore, but doing well!

Tonight I am planning on spray painting my Making Memories Embellishment center and mounting it on my craft room wall...I will take a few pictures to show you what color I chose to paint it and how it looks on my wall.  If I am feeling adventurous I may take a video instead...stay tuned for my second adventure.

Slow Start out of the Gate

The first few months of being a new consultant has brought me challenges, but I am finding it easier and easier to put myself out there to share what I love....scrapbooking.  I haven't reached the confidense level to strick up a conversation with a total stranger in WalMart down the crafting aisle or with someone at our local grocery store near the magazine rack, but my collegues at work have been total sports letting me use them as guinea pigs to talk about scrapbooking.  A BIG thank you to all the ladies from my work who have listened to me go on and on these past few months...

Now I have to share the great news....this weekend I am partaking in my very first craft sale and I am totally stoked!  I am such a newbie and can't wait to showcase the new fall/winter products from CTMH and to also share my art work I have done over the past while.  I am nervous and excited all at the same time, but I know I am prepared.  I can't wait to tell you how it all went and btw my assistant this weekend is my #1 Fan, my mom...can't wait to share how it goes.
